Celebrating Utah's Writers Since 1935

Utah Authors Day is organized by the League of Utah Writers, the state's oldest and largest nonprofit writing organization. The League supports writers at every stage of their creative and publishing journeys through education, community, and literary opportunities.

Utah Authors Day has roots reaching back to the 1930s. The League revived the tradition in 2021, bringing authors into local bookstores and libraries across Utah to connect with readers and celebrate the state's literary talent.

Recognized annually through an official declaration from Utah's governor, the celebration highlights the importance of local writers, independent bookstores, libraries, and the communities they serve.
